2020 Wildwater World Championships

April 26th – 30th, 2020

Nantahala Racing Club and Nantahala Outdoor Center are proud to host the 2020 ICF Wildwater World Championships, bringing over 150 athletes from 30 countries around the world to the Southeastern US. We are thrilled to welcome these athletes, their families, and their teams to our home and are excited to facilitate this wonderful competition in April 2020!

Bryson City, North Carolina is rich in outdoor activities. As a gateway to the Great Smoky Mountains, Nantahala Gorge, and the Appalachian Trail, Bryson City is ideal for all forms of recreation, suited to all skill- and knowledge-levels.

The Nantahala Outdoor Center (NOC) was founded along the banks of the Nantahala River in 1972, offering guided raft trips to visitors. Since its humble beginnings, NOC has grown to include retail stores, restaurants, on-site lodging, and a slew of activities, which host over 500,000 visitors each year. NOC has a rich history of hosting whitewater events, starting with the International Project Raft Rally of 1990. Most recently, NOC hosted the ICF Freestyle World Championships in 2013 and the Junior World Championships in 2015.
